Restaurant: Harold's Corral

Harold's Corral is a staple on the famous road coming into Cave Creek, but really, how is the food? Is it worth the stop? We wanted to find out. We stopped by this past Sunday and grabbed some quick food.

First up, the Southwest Burger ($10.25) which includes "Cajun spiced and char-grilled ½ pound fresh ground beef, topped with roasted poblano peppers, pepper jack cheese and chipotle ranch dressing on a kaiser roll."

Of course we got the fries instead of coleslaw. It would actually be better if it came with fries and coleslaw. Then it would actually feel like a full out backyard BBQ meal.

The burger was awesome. The peppers and the mayo gave the burger a smoked southwest taste without blowing your mouth out with heat.

Next up the Carne Asada Street Tacos ($8.99) with "Marinated beef grilled and served with lettuce, pico de gallo and queso fresco."

The tacos were on point. Pour a bit of the salsa verde on top and put it in your mouth. We were sad that Harold's doesn't let you mix and match tacos, because we would have loved to know what the chicken, shrimp and fish ones tasted like too.

One word of caution, stay away from the rice and beans that come with the street tacos. The beans taste like glue and the rice is crunchy. We almost broke our teeth on it. With this being said, we would still order the street tacos again though.

So there you have it. A quick and dirty food review on Harold's Corral in our loved Cave Creek. Stop by and grab some food.

Go Cave Creek.
