Where most of Phoenix tears down to rebuild there is a little hidden gem full of history. The Pioneer Arizona Living History Museum showcases the way things once were.
As you pass through the gates, you will see real historic buildings that have been relocated to the property and people dressed in historic clothing with a ridiculous amount of knowledge.
Our favorite place to visit was the blacksmith. He knew so much, and it was fascinating listening to him while watching him make these beautiful pieces of art with fire and a hammer. There were candlesticks, horseshoes and other miscellaneous decor items all for sale in this barn filled with antiques.
Whether you are a teacher with a classroom full of students, a parent with a car full of kids or a group of friends, take some time to venture out into the Wild West.
